Currently December

Hard to believe it's already December and time for another Currently! I've been enjoying my extended weekend off and am ready to settle down for another nap.  I know....what a life of luxury I lead. ;)

Listening: Rock of Ages is playing the background- LOVE IT! As much as I love the movie, the live show is even more spectacular.

Loving: Cozy pajamas and my fuzzy Ugg slippers help make it the most wonderful time of the year! Give me a cup of hot chocolate and one of those terrible Lifetime Christmas movies or ABC Family and I'm one happy camper.

Thinking: One more day off...just one more, would be amazing! I'm thankful for time I had, but am slightly dreading the next 3 chaotic weeks to Winter Break.

Wanting: Holiday preparations to be done and over with.  I don't know how those of you who are moms do it. ...I'm just going to leave it at that and bow my head in respect.

Needing: A holiday movie...maybe I'll have to turn on Lifetime soon. My yearly must watch movies are White Christmas, Elf, The Family Stone, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.  What are your favorites?

Favorite Tradition: Christmas Eve dinner with my family is a big deal.  My dad is a bit of a foodie and starts planning his menu a month in advance...it's always amazing and I always eat WAY too much. Afterwards we all walk waddle into church for the 11pm service where the service ends with the congregation singing Silent Night by candlelight at midnight.  It's beautiful and always reminds me of the magic of Christmas.

I can't wait to check out all of the other Currentlys over at Farley's!
Happy Holidays!

  1. First, I LOVE your blog title! So funny! I love all of the fun Christmas movies. For me, it's Elf, Charlie Brown Christmas, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I may have to search for my own copies of a few more adult-friendly Christmas movies since we don't have cable to catch everything on ABC Family anymore.
The way we get all the decorating done is by waiting until bedtime/naptime. Fortunately our little one sleeps well, so it hasn't been very difficult to decorate (plus we did most of the decorating a few weeks ago). As for shopping, he either goes to his grandparents, or I've done most of my shopping online. It's not too bad, though. His excitement makes up for it!

Enjoy your nap! Flannel pjs and some cozy slippers sound like a great idea.

  6. Ooo I wish it got cold enough here in Houston on a regular basis to wear Uggs. I try to do cozy socks but I usually don't make it long! I would love to see what your dad makes! Yum!

  14. I love Christmas Eve, too! We end our service in the same way and it's just so peaceful and beautiful. I'm looking forward to it again this year! We got lucky and have today off, too! It's the first day of deer-gun season and in my part of the world (Southeastern, Ohio) it's a big deal! I don't hunt by I'll take the day off! Here's wishing you a speedy 3 weeks until break!
