Monday Made-It 7-8-13

Well, I almost didn't make it to this Monday, but I'm here! I love checking Tara's blog every Monday and get a thrill of excitement with all of the inspiration out there!
So first up, I picked up these fabulous containers for a dollar at Michaels this week...a dolla makes me holla, honey boo boo!  They are originally meant to store 4x6 photos, but I decided to use them to hold some word work activities & card games.  In my classroom I had a drawer filled with some amazing games I had printed from TPT in plastic baggies, but they were hard to keep organized and remember to use.
I taped the labels inside the lids, so that they are easy to read.  I even printed directions or little reminder notes for each the games/activities and taped those inside the boxes.
I'm really excited about these containers and may possibly have to pick up more!
For my second project I recreated more lollipops for my classroom.  For this project I purchased paint, foam circles, popsicle sticks, glitter, and cellophane. :)
First, I painted the circles with some acrylic paint.
Next, I painted a swirl with mod podge and sprinkled with my favorite thing...glitter!!! **I used mod podge, but I would suggest you use tacky glue...too bad I couldn't find mine  :(
The final step is hot gluing a popsicle stick to the back of the circle...wrapping in cellophane...and finishing it off with a ribbon!
VOILA! Glitter Lollipop...super cute for a bulletin board!
Thanks for reading and be sure to check out more fabulous ideas at 4th Grade Frolics!

  2. So cute! You could do oversized ones with 12x12 felt:)

I almost did a "sweets theme" this year b/c I have bright multi-colored table bins...but for 3 years I've wanted to do a Mermaid Theme. So, I bit the bullet and I'm going with Mermaids!

  3. I love those containers--I may just have to run to michaels this week! :)

  4. Those are super "sweet"! Love them. Might have to make me some for a bulletin board of "sweet reads". Thanks.

  5. Cute lollipops! What do you do with the "text a friend" activity inside the pocket? Last year I had something like that and laminated it so they could write words on the top, but it got all messed up and the marker didn't erase...
